Itinerary:
DAY 01. ARRIVAL SURABAYA - BROMO AREA (L)
Pick up service at Surabaya airport (afternoon arrival). Lunch at local restaurant. Direct drive to Bromo Tengger Semeru national Park area. Upon arrival at Cemoro Lawang village, check in at hotel. Free program.
DAY 02. SUNRISE PANANJAKAN - BROMO CRATER - IJEN PLATEAU AREA (BL)
Early morning at 4 am, by 4WD jeep pasd through shimmering sea of sand,drive to Mt. Pananjakan (2,775 meter ASL). It is agreat spot to enjoy spectacular sunrise. Trip then continued by riding on a horse back to climb up till the rim of Mt.Bromo crater. Bromo crater is considered as a sacred place for Hindu comunity at Bromo and Tengger area and is to throw offering when Kasodo holy ceremony is held. Upon completion, return to hotel for breakfast and packing up, then transfer to Ijen area (5 hours driving). Lunch at local restaurant. Late afternoon arrive at Ijen area and direct check in at guest house. Evening free program.
DAY 03. IJEN LIGHT TREKKING - SUKAMADE TURTLE BEACH (BLD)
Early morning (at 4 am is recommended time)wake up call. Check out and take a short drive from guest house to Ijen ranger post. Start light trekking up to get to Ijen crater (3 hours go and back). Ijen crater is a gigantic crater and is measured 1 km in diameter and 175 meter in depth. A place for traditional sulphur mining. This trip will let you observe how hard working locals carrying full loaded sulphur material with bamboo baskets that weigh 70 - 80 kg, up and down the crater edge. Finished ijen trip, by 4WD jeep proceed to Sukamade area which is famous for its turtle beach, located at Meru Betiri National Park. Along the way to Sukamade you will experience driving through endless plantation of coffee, cacao, and traditional rubber tapping. You may even travel through dense Meru Betiri National Forest where the last Javanese tigers are still believed to roam the area. Lunch served at local restaurant. Late afternoon arrive at Sukamade, check in at simple Sukamade Guesthouse. After simple dinner at the guesthouse, proceed to the Sukamade beach for the turtle excursion (sightings are not guaranteed). See the turtles slowly walk up ashore to lay their eggs. Then back to the guesthouse for overnight.
DAY 04. SUKAMADE – TRANSFER SURABAYA OR KETAPANG FERRY PORT (B)
After having simple breakfast at guest house, take a short tour to see several local products , such as spices, cacao, coffee or rubber, typical to this area being processed at the next door factory. Back to guest house, pack up and check out then transfer to Surabaya or Ketapang ferry harbor for your next destination. End of services.
