Bromo - Tengger - Semeru National Park
A volcano massive extending from Semeru volcano, The Tengger highlands date back to about 820.000 years a go and consist of five overlapping strato - volcanoes, each truncated by a caldera.
An overlapping cluster of post - Caldera cones was constructed on the floor of the sand sea caldera within the past several thousand years.
The young'est of these is Bromo, one of Java's most active and most frequently visited volcanoes with caldera extending 20 km wide.
Visit or come for surreal experience of crossing the empty sea of black sand inside the caldera of an ancient volcano, in the dry season, people walk or take horses or jeep at there in the early morning in order to reach the peak in time to catch the sunrise over the Pananjakan Mountains.

The location in Highlands of East Java, 100 km from south - east Surabaya, access to Bromo have 3 gate or way, first from Probolinggo, second from Malang city and third from Tumpang south malang, the most visitor come from through Probolinggo, a small transit town located between Surabaya - Banyuwangi coastal route, from there go to cemoro lawang heading to the south, the best visit on April to October every year
